Sydney Gets Bangs

Sydney's cousin Ellie recently got bangs....which means Sydney now wants bangs. She's been asking for awhile now. Lance and I are not really big fans for bangs, but it's her hair and I think she should be able to do it if she wants. So after her last soccer game today I took her to a salon. She had never been to a salon before since I had been the one to trim her hair. Before we got there she asked me if was going to hurt! Isn't that so cute! The before....
Getting ready...

Here we go....

No turning back, but can see her genuine smile?

She loves it, and that all that matters!

Sydney's Soccer Season #1 is Over!

Soccer ended with lots of rain! I didn't mind though. The kids have fun playing in the rain, and as long as I have an umbrella, I enjoy watching. Sydney's come a long way in 2 months. She still says she doesn't like soccer, but it looks like she really is having fun out there. Here she is as goalie, doing a goal kick.
Good save!

Can I just say how happy I am that our team is pink?! I doesn't get any better than little girls playing soccer in pink jersey and matching frilly hair bows!

Pop a Wheelie

Tyson's new scooter has a wheelie bar, so he's been learning how to do wheelies.

Book Character Day

Well, I guess it's comes as no surprise that our school is not allowed to have a Halloween day, so now they have a "book character" day. You must bring the book to school. We had to borrow a book from Grandma that's about a witch.Tyson is a green dragon (same thing as last year, which is why it looks a little small, but I didn't mind as long as it meant I didn't have to buy another costume!).

Carving Pumpkins

Here we are at the beginning....And here's the end result. Sydney's pumpkin was a cat, Tyson's was scary, and Carson's was silly!

Laughter

I love the kids laughter in this video!

Poor Scarecrow

Lanny really wanted to see this.

Pumpkin Patch

We visited a pumpkin patch today with Grandma and Aunt Monica. We got to ride a train and a ferry. As we rode the ferry a sea monster suddenly rose out of the water. The train took us through a haunted tunnel.

Carson Gets Dressed

I tried to help him put on the shirt correctly, but he insisted on wearing it like this.

Tyson is a 4 year old!

This was first thing in the morning on his birthday. We opened all the presents from family right away.

That afternoon we had a friend party. There were games, prizes, pizza, cake and icecream.

His party was a monster truck theme.

I love how excited he looks here!

Scarecrow is My Brother

Carson loves our Scarecrow decoration. He says it's his brother. But it's a love-hate relationship because I've seen him punch the scarecrow in the face. Maybe I'll get that on video later, but I didn't want to encourage that kind of behavior.

My Spooky Tree

I decided to make a spooky tree for halloween. I found the branch at my mom's house and put orange lights on it. The kids love it. I think it's cute? Lance thinks it looks trashy. I guess I'm not really sure.

Front Yard

I was never very impressed with the landscaping our new house came with. I've been telling Lance I really like rock incorporated into landscaping. He's so thoughtful, he brought some rock home from a boyscout campout! I used the rocks to create this little "pretend" water feature (it doesn't do anything except look cute). I added the little tree and the grasses. I also planted 108 bulbs of various flowers all around, so I'm excited to see how it looks in the spring!

Gravel

We had a lot of MUD on the north and south sides of our house. We've decided to put gravel in those places, and the minimum amount we could order for delivery was 4 cubic yards, which was a lot of gravel. Poor Lance had to shovel it, and move it, and spread it. Thanks Lance!

Picking Out Pumpkins

We love picking out pumpkins! This is kind of a boring picture, but I wanted to put up whatever pictures I could for the benefit of all our family who lives far away and doesn't get to see the kids very often.

Tyson Cuts His Hair

Well, I kindof thought only girls cut their own hair, but I was wrong. I had taken Carson upstairs to change a diaper and left Sydney and Tyson downstairs cutting paper with scissors, something they do all the time. When I came back down there was blond hair all over the table. Both of them had been cutting their own hair. I could never figure out whose idea it was. Sydney's damage was not noticable, she basically cut herself a few long bangs. Tyson's was down to the scalp! I'm mad at myself for forgetting to take a picture before he got the haircut to "fix" it. That's right.... this is the "fixed" version. His hair was much longer before!
