Newport Marathon 2009

I can't believe it, but I just ran my first marathon! Here I am with 5 other friends who also ran. This picture was at 6am just before leaving the beach house we rented for the weekend. Here is Ann and I just after finishing. Our time was 4 hours and 30 minutes. I had a great experience. My favorite part was texting my sisters and friend throughout the race and receiving their encouraging texts in return. I knew they were thinking about me and cheering me on, even though they were far away.

Tyson loves the beach, the sand, the water, everything.

Can you tell we're Red Sox fans? Lance would probably say I'm not a true fan, but I definately consider myself a fan. Not only do I know many of the players names, but if they win, my husband is happy... enough said.

The Hippy Chick Half Marathon

I ran in my first half marathon on May 9th. My good friend Ann runs the same pace as I do and we managed an 8 and half minute mile pace the whole way. Our finishing time was 1 Hour and 53 minutes.
Here are my other friends that also ran, Amy Jo, Camille, Lisa, and Lori.

Singing in the rain

It was raining hard, and Sydney asked if she go outside on the deck in the rain. I told her she could, and somehow one thing led to another and she ended up in her bathing suit danceing on the deck in the pouring rain. And it was not warm outside.

Iris Parade

We went to our little community parade, the Iris Parade. I think the kids got more candy from this parade than halloween! The parade opened with a helicopter flying low, right over all of us. We were in such amazement I wasn't able to get out camera! It was probably Tyson's favorite part, but a close second was the giant tractor!

Even Carson loved the parade, especially the balloons.

Roller Skates

A friend let Sydney borrow some roller skates. Sydney hasn't stopped skating since. She puts on her elbow and knee pads and calls herself "Safety Girl".

The Hot Air Balloon

Yesterday morning we woke to up to pleasant surprise, a hot air balloon right outside our house! The kids loved it, we could even see the flames that heat the balloon.
